Winning a Michelin star is nice! Winning a Nobel Peace Prize is something else and José Andrés looks poised to become the first chef to win one. Andrés has just been nominated by politician John Delaney (D-Md.) who confirmed the nomination to the Washington Post.
Surely there can be few ventures to induce both anxiety and fear to the extent of a new restaurant opening. Aiden Byrne is perhaps best known in these parts (these parts being Ireland) for having won a Michelin star while head chef at The Commons Restaurant in Dublin. Prior to this Aidan had also picked. up serious experience while working for Conrad Gallagher at Peacock Alley and Paul Rankin at Roscoffs in Belfast.
Alas it would appear that Aiden has been struck with Manchester’s Michelin star jinks.
