Go ahead Recommend a Chef to us, it’ll Make Our Day
Chances are a chef recommendation will make their day too, maybe not today but someday. You see not all chefs display their glory in full view, many are the unsung heros who stand behind the names we all know while others are doing great food but doing it off the beaten track. So how do such chefs get the opportunity to shine? Well as long as they remain reticent about their talent, or hidden from view, the answer is they won’t. The sad fact is that not all talented chefs are destined to get their time in the spotlight and many’s the culinary career has stalled from lack of exposure. That’s why we’ve launched Chef Scout Our Chef Recommendation Engine. Because there are chefs who don’t know to deposit their CVs with us there’s now a way for friends, diners or colleagues to put them on our radar so we know who they are.
The Chef Talent Network
Finding and promoting the most talented chefs is our bread and butter. We think of our job as a combination of Talent Agent and Football Scout and Chefs as either “seasoned pros,” “mercurial performers,” “up and comers” and “hidden gems.” We discover culinary talent by a variety of means, we spend all our time on this stuff, and in “Chef Scout” we’re creating just one more avenue of discovery. So why should you participate? To help us? While that would be nice it’s probably not the reason you would get involved. So why would you? Because you probably know a chef capable of achieving much more if they were only in the right environment. If we don’t know them, then we can’t help them, or even help you to help them. Result? They continue to achieve less than they could. A chef only gets one career and the journey from enchantment to disenchantment can be short and a short and devastating one. Almost always the culprit is that they’re in the wrong environment. The solution is to get them into the right environment, one where they can flourish.
We have no preference for the demographic of chef you might recommend other than talent. We’re as interested in hearing about that 3rd year Commis Chef who’s capable of, but not necessarily destined for, a great career as we are about that talented Head Chef who everyone is reticent about approaching. We’re not promising we can finess a life transforming job move this week, or even this month, but we certainly are saying that in letting us know you’ll be putting them on the map where it matters.
