Sous Chef – Acclaimed Casual Dining Restaurant – County Tipperary
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a talented and ambitious Sous Chef to join the kitchen brigade of an acclaimed casual dining restaurant, located in County Tipperary.
Representing my client, a leader in Irish luxury hospitality, I am seeking a culinary professional with a passion for excellence and the drive to succeed in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The restaurant is renowned for its commitment to quality, serving creative and contemporary dishes in a beautifully designed space that operates seven days a week for lunch and dinner. This is a key leadership role where you will support the Head Chef in guiding the team to achieve new heights of culinary distinction.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will be a natural leader with a calm demeanour and a background in high-quality, standards-driven kitchens. You will have:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a highly skilled Junior Sous Chef ready for the next step up.
- A background in high-quality, high-volume casual dining, brasserie, or gastropub settings.
- Experience within a 4 or 5-star hotel environment is highly advantageous.
- Exceptional leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- The ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- Impeccable knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head Chef, your duties will include:
- Leading, supervising, and motivating the kitchen brigade to deliver consistently outstanding food.
- Supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, deputising in their absence.
- Overseeing the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all dishes to the highest standard.
- Contributing to creative menu development, including seasonal specials and new concepts.
- Upholding meticulous standards of food hygiene, HACCP, and health & safety compliance.
