Our client, a superior four-star resort hotel in County Tipperary, has asked us to find for them an excellent Sous Chef.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of 18 months of experience as a Sous Chef in a four or five-star hotel environment. They must have excellent knowledge and experience of all aspects of kitchen management, including food preparation and presentation, menu planning and costing, staff training and supervision, and stock control.
The Sous Chef must also be able to work effectively under pressure and be able to maintain the high standards of cuisine that are expected at this hotel. As Sous Chef you will be responsible for the training, development and coaching of kitchen staff. We hope you enjoy mentoring because staff development is a big part of your future here.
This is a multi-outlet business and the Sous Chef has a role to play in overseeing all. You will move fluidly between the different restaurant operations while, occasionally, overseeing this hotel's thriving banquet operation too.
The ability to foster a culture of teamwork and accountability while being able to drive results is essential. You must be able to create an environment where employees feel appreciated and challenged while upholding the standards that our guests expect. Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills are a must.
