Description
This Head Chef Role is for a very exciting New Brasserie project due to open in early 2015. Our client wants the successful chef applicant to be "on-site" between 2-3 months prior to opening. You'll be very much involved in shaping the direction and identity of this business and will enjoy a seat at the top table in terms of decision making when it comes to the food, staff hiring, staff training, kitchen design, fit and finish.
In short if you've been looking for an opportunity to create an upper mid market restaurant/brasserie according, in large measure, to your specifications this is about as close as you'll get without having to buy your own place. And speaking of having your own place, succeed here and the owners have in place an equity stake in the business for you to be triggered on predefined performance and loyalty criteria. Further details on the specifics at interview.
The setting for this business is in a picturesque and very friendly village in Northern Ireland which is approx 1 hour 45 mins by car to Dublin, and a mere 40 Minutes to Belfast. Structurally this is a very big project which will see one of the village's more prominent, but alas in recent years neglected, buildings undergo a complete rebirth. Upon opening the remit is for premises to become one of Northern Ireland's best affordable destination dining locations; special enough to be worth a journey yet competitive enough to attract passing trade and impulse diners.
As Head Chef you'll be the person to make the magic happen so it's very important to our client that, upon application, you have gained experience as Head Chef in a successful and imaginative restaurant/brasserie operation previously. Experience of new openings would be an added bonus. Although the goal is to create a superb contemporary brasserie it wouldn't hurt if along the way you've also picked up experience in more formal dining environments too. One way or another this is going to be one of the more exciting openings of 2015 on the island and if you've the right experience and the ambition to "crack" a project of this scale you'd be foolish not to apply straight away.
If you're applying from abroad please remember you have to be legally eligible to work in the host country. All job offers, and even our ability to consider your application, are subject to this condition.
Due to the sheer volume of CVs we handle we cannot, in all cases, promise an immediate personal response.
