Areas of responsibility
- Approve and refine dishes before they are served to the customer
- Direct the process of food preparation and any other related activities
- Make equipment and ingredient orders based on identified shortages
- Build menus with a variety of new and existing culinary creations and ensure that the quality of the servings is maintained
- Hiring, managing, training, and supervising kitchen staff
- Payroll and attendance records should be maintained
- Encourage cooperation and respect between co-workers
- Supervise and manage the work of chefs and other kitchen staff
Requirements
- Kitchen management experience is essential
- It is desirable to have experience as a head chef in a 4/5 star environment
- A degree in culinary science or a related certificate is preferred
- Computer savvy (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
- Occupational safety and health training certificates
- Ability to divide responsibility and supervise kitchen process and output
