This is a Chef De Partie position in a very "high end" Italian kitchen. We cannot stress enough that this business is not about pre made pastas and pizzas. The culinary standards here are exceptionally and that the level your skills will need to be at if you're to succeed in a position like this one. While the customer facing proposition here is everything you would expect of a top notch restaurant from fine table settings to impeccable service, and superb cuisine, this doesn't come at the expense of investment in the kitchen. Our client places great emphasis on all aspects of the "back of house" operation and investment in the kitchen is ongoing. Those of you used to working in higher end restaurants would hope and expect this to be the case and in this instance it is the case. So the stage is set for you, this is a quality employer, a superior work environment, an excellent location and all you need to do is to bring your skills.
It is those skills which will, naturally, determine the success of anyone applying for this job. However, even if your background in cuisine is not predominantly Italian that would not necessarily put you out of the running, not so long as you can bring skills gained in very high quality restaurants. And restaurants, and especially experience gained in high end restaurants, is what our client is seeking in a chef de partie. In terms of professional working traits particular emphasis is being placed on candidates with excellent organisational abilities. A disciplined approach to timekeeping, communications, and a structured approach to both mise en place, and service, are highly desired in potential applicants.
